Something not working?
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| The link won't load | Check that the video is public and still on YouTube. Private, members-only, age-restricted and live videos can't be processed. |
| 1080p or 4K is missing | Only the qualities the uploader published are listed. A higher resolution can't be created from a lower one. |
| It stays on "Preparing" | Long or high-quality videos are prepared on our server first. Try a lower quality, or a shorter video (limit: 2 hours). |
| The file won't play | 1440p and 4K files use VP9 or AV1 video. Open them in VLC, or download 1080p or lower. |
| I can't find the file | Check your browser's Downloads list. On iPhone or iPad, open the Files app and look in Downloads. |
| "Too many requests" | There is a fair-use limit per hour to keep the service fast for everyone. Wait a few minutes and try again. |
Frequently asked questions
Why does a video show no tags?
Tags are optional and many creators leave them empty. If nothing shows, the creator did not add any.
Do tags still help YouTube SEO?
YouTube has said tags play a minor role. The title, description and thumbnail matter far more.
Can I copy another video's tags?
Use them as inspiration. Only add tags that truly describe your own video, because misleading tags go against YouTube's policies.
